Aluminum Docks
With over 40 years of dock manufacturing experience in the USA, we proudly present our own aluminum docks, with several brands.
Learn about our own Dura-LITE™ brand, available in either a stationary or a floating option and a choice of select decking surfaces. The Dura-LITE™ is made with our premier marine grade aluminum frame, a robust tubular design, made for rough residential service, including many commercial or public applications.
Below our Dura-LITE™ brand, find our Feather-LITE™ brand that has a lighter frame for smaller bodies of water and smaller boats, yet made more rugged than other brands in its class. This brand is exclusively available as a stationary dock.
Everything about the Dura-LITE™ is designed to be easy, low maintenance, strong, and attractive. With a 4×10 frame weighing 85 lbs., and the option to have removable deck panels for most of our decking products, installation can be done by one or two people. This is our premium dock for use in medium to large water bodies.
The Feather-LITE™ dock is ideal for most small water bodies where light boats are used. As such, this dock is great for pontoon boats, aluminum boats, and smaller fiberglass watercraft. While classified as our lightest weight dock, the Feather-LITE™ is still stronger than most aluminum docks on the market. Its 5″ tubular frame, offers superior strength against vertical load and twisting. This stands in contrast to most other aluminum docks built with channel or trusses, which can twist easily during use.
Dura-LITE™ floating aluminum docks display Maine’s finest craftsmanship in the metal trades. Its sleek frame lines and your choice of natural red cedar or synthetic decking add elegance to your waterfront.
The Dura-LITE aluminum swim raft offers a durable and stable platform for swimming, sunbathing, or lounging. With a high-grade aluminum frame, our rafts are portable, yet sturdy enough to withstand the forces of wind and waves. Additionally, with multiple decking options, the Dura-LITE swim raft provides a safe and comfortable space for swimmers and sunbathers alike. Overall, the Dura-LITE swim raft is a perfect addition to any waterfront property looking to offer a fun and safe space for water activities.
About Dura-LITE
Everything about a Dura-LITE™ stationary aluminum dock is designed to be easier to install, stronger, and more reliable. An 85lb (4×10) frame, with optional removable deck panels, can be installed by one or two people. The Dura-LITE™ stationary aluminum dock is a premium dock for use in medium to large bodies of water. The strong design is capable of holding larger recreational boats. Within the Dura-LITE™’s 6” tall, heavy duty frame, you have the choice of rustic or modern decking. Our decking offerings include stained red cedar, solid board HDPE lumber, or fiberglass reinforced decking. Stationary frame sizes include: 4’x10’, 4’x16’ and 6’x10’.
Types of Dura-LITE
Dura-LITE™ aluminum docks are available in both floating and stationary configurations. The roller dock configuration is also possible with the optional wheel kit. Dura-LITE™ docks are designed to be removed seasonally. However, they are suitable for use as a permanent structure if ice is not present and local building codes permit.
Dura-LITE Quality
Made in Maine for the harsh conditions of big lakes, the Dura-LITE™ superior strength comes from a heavy duty 6″ tall tubular frame. This frame offers class-leading resistance to flexing from vertical load and twisting forces. Compare this to channel and truss frame style docks which have very little resistance to twisting forces.
Dura-LITE Modularity
Adding sections to stationary Dura-LITE™ docks is a snap with our Snap On Connector J Brackets. Some basic tools are required, and will allow you to spend less time installing your dock, and more time enjoying it. Snap On J brackets make it easier to add sections anywhere you want. If you decide to reconfigure your dock, J Brackets can be pried loose with a large flat screwdriver. They can then and re-used in the new location.
Sturdy and Stable Dura-LITE
Rugged 1-½” schedule 40 galvanized or aluminum pipe legs allow Dura-LITE™ stationary Aluminum Docks to maintain a solid footing in various soil types. The use of pipes as legs allows the installer to drive legs into the lake bed. As a result, the dock is more stable, making it suitable for tying larger boats. The basic frame has all the bracing you need to take you up to 3 – 4ft of water depth. In 4 – 8ft of water, we recommend using our Hook-and-Lock braces to increase strength and stability.
In water deeper than 10’, consult one of our professionals for advice, as a floating configuration may be more suitable. Dura-LITE™ docks can also be set up to stand on feet for temporary tie-up, general recreation, or use of kayaks, canoes and rowboats. If tie-up of large watercrafts is desired, but driving pipe is not possible, consult one of our professionals for advice on other anchoring methods.
Quick tip: 1-1/2″ schedule 40 pipe has an outer diameter of 1-7/8″.
Dura-Lite Accessories
The simplicity of adding on continues with more Snap On accessories, including vertical and horizontal bumpers, benches, ladders, railings, and mooring whips. These Snap On accessories secure to small linear tracks on the top and bottom of the dock frame. The upper hook shaped groove is thin, and hardly noticeable from the top edge. This groove is uniquely designed to secure accessories, while remaining too small to capture large pieces of debris.
Dura-LITE Decking
Dura-LITE™ docks are uniquely designed with a proven latching system to hold removable composite decking panels flat, without compromising the ease of removal. Framing is standard at 16″ on-center to accommodate almost any composite decking material. The latching system ensures your panels remain flat for the lifetime of your decking. Hidden fasteners hold decking from the underside, so you can enjoy a cleaner look on the top side.
